ESSAY QUESTION:

How have you prepared yourself to fulfill your dream or to achieve your life ambition?

ĐƠN ĐĂNG KÍ THỨ NHẤT

I want to revolutionize the way Vietnamese farmers grow and market their farm products. The farming field in Vietnam is very fragmented; there is no economies of scale which leads to low efficiency. Vietnamese farm products, from my own experience in the markets of Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand, are also superior to those of her traditional competitors, yet we have to settle for a lower price. All of these can change if we know how to market our products to a higher market segment.

My action plan for this goal is two-fold: theoretical and practical. I am reading up on the green revolution which took place in America at the turn of the 20th century to understand how they have come from a base not very different from our own now, to where they can fertilize their fields using helicopters and specialized planes. I am also familiarizing myself with the history of communism in Vietnam circa 1980s, to understand what went wrong with the collectivization in the 70s and 80s of the last century so as not to repeat the same mistake. Current Vietnamese laws which forbid centralizing farming lands also present a daunting legal hurdle, thus I am looking into the historical context of that law in order to come up with the best defense to repeal it.

I have traveled and made extensive contacts with the farmers in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam, but I feel it is not enough. I need to spend more time with them to understand their conditions and circumstances, in order to help them achieve more with their labor. And if I want to see my ambition come true, I need to sharpen my leadership and management skills, thus my involvement in various projects. Seeing different parts of the world through my traveling also broadens my horizon, which would ultimately serve my goal.

ĐƠN ĐĂNG KÍ THỨ HAI

The only thing that makes people keep moving forward is having a big dream. You can only achieve high when you aim high and that’s why a big dream is one of the biggest motivations to live, to study, to develop and to be successful in this life. Getting things done and making dream come true is my greatest desire. From the moment I realized how important it is to make my dream come true, I’ve tried to fulfill it by studying hard, working hard and enjoying life to the fullest.

Firstly, studying is definitely a key in making my dream come true as I intend to study abroad in the US. Obviously, whatever your dream is, knowledge is what you need all the time. Improving my academic English and having good grades at schools are my two big goals of this year. I’ve taken two classes on US Studies and Economics and spend 3 hours/day on studying English and Math. Extra classes are not quite necessary since I know self-studying is more effective if you know the method and have a great determination. It seems a little bit tough for me to handle two processes at the same time: the US university admission and the Vietnamese university entrance exam. However, since there’ll always be a nice result for those you try their best, I don’t think this year is going a nightmare, but a honorable challenge.

Secondly, working for gaining more experience is one of the most important things to put in my suitcase for a life journey ahead. This year, I’m working for a non-profit organization and since I joined their organizing team, my narrow circle of life has expanded so far so well. Whatever your dreams, you can’t do it great if you’re alone. Having someone to company with you through the hash journey is one of the biggest motivations for you to make your dream come true. Moreover, I’ve learnt a lot from my teammates since they are all talented, hardworking and very helpful. Besides all the things you learn at school, there are many priceless lessons that are taught by other people, in other places and actually, the most successful person is not always the best student, but the most experienced.

Finally, it is life enjoyment that can fulfill my dream and achieve my life ambition. Most people, for their best effort to achieve what the want, study and work all the time ignoring those precious moments of tasting a warm cup of coffee, watering a plant or noticing their family members’ facial emotions. Whatever your dream is, true values of daily life are needed as life is worth living, not surviving. No matter how busy I am, I’m always trying to care about my family and friends, about their feelings and troubles. Taking photos capturing memorable of my life and editing them is my hobby. Being nostalgic sometimes helps you slowdown your working speed and meditate on what you are doing and make your life decision wiser.

Every dreamer must wake up in the dawn, the time when all the wonderful things happened in their dream disappear, and has to realize that the world being seen by their eyes now is not a dream. People are alike in dreaming. It is only in their deeds that bring what they call dreams turn into reality. I believe that, what I’m doing today is worth for making my dream come true!

Since Toy Story was launched, the whole world of all children was stunned by the incredible friendship between Andy and Woody. Though Woody was only a cowboy toy, he has set a crucial role in Andy’s childhood, and yet, Andy’s whole life. Therefore, if I had chance to change the ending of Toy Story 3, I would let Andy take Woody to the college.

Everything is made for solely one destiny. So was Woody. He was made for kids, in order words: for Andy. From the beginning, Andy and Woody have been gone through myriads of thick and thin. Without recognition, Woody became a part of Andy: a part of Andy’s childhood, a part of Andy’s life. However, as Andy was growing day by day, like any other kids in the world, Andy somehow forgot the little cowboy as well as other toys. Though that triggered a great number of misunderstandings between Andy and other toys, Wood still kept his faith. He knew for sure that he was only for Andy.

Nevertheless, what comes will come, when Andy had to leave for college, Woody was left behind with a new kid-Bonnie. At the moment when Andy looked at Woody, considering he should give Woody to Bonnie or not, all the memories between Andy and Woody came back, hit Andy, Woody and even the audience, like a flow of water. All the hardships and hurdles they have been through, all the burdens they have to bare, came back to everyone’s mind, cut a little by little to everyone’s heart. That was the real ending, the hurting one.

On the other hand, if Andy would take Woody with him to college, it would be much better. Existing between Andy and Woody was not only friendship, but also ‘love’. Woody loved Andy unconditionally. Woody, we can say, was a signal of an everlasting love, a symbol of the peaceful memories. Memories, as everyone knows, has the power to lighten people from the darkness, to give people hopes, to make people rest and to help people find another solution of which problems they are dealing with. Therefore, being with Woody meant Andy could have a power of overcome any hurdles and burdens on his long run. Woody could remind him of the sweet childhood they had shared together, all the challenges they had dealt…etc. Therefore, what else could he not overcome?

If Andy took Woody with him, the story’s ending would be perfect. Though Woody still had his friends, who could not go with Andy, Woody, since the beginning of the story, was emphasized to be Andy’s. He was Andy’s past. He will be Andy’s power. He needs to be with Andy.
